PromptSafe Privacy Policy

PromptSafe is a Chrome extension that detects sensitive information before you send text to supported AI pages.

Limited Use

PromptSafe's use of information received from Chrome profile identity APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Prompt text is scanned locally in the browser for the single purpose of warning users before sensitive information is sent to supported AI pages. PromptSafe does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not transfer user data to data brokers or advertising platforms.

What PromptSafe Processes

PromptSafe reads text inside supported AI input fields only to detect sensitive information locally in the browser. This includes possible API keys, private keys, JWTs, phone numbers, emails, Korean resident ID patterns, payment-card candidates, internal URLs, and user-defined terms.

What PromptSafe Does Not Collect

Stored Locally

PromptSafe may store extension settings, enabled supported sites, risk type toggles, custom sensitive terms and regex patterns, license or trial display cache, and raw-text-free audit logs. Audit logs include time, site, risk type, severity, action, confidence, length, and fingerprint metadata only.

Users can clear audit logs from the options page.

Server-Bound Data

When Chrome profile account sign-in, trial, license, checkout, or payment verification is used, PromptSafe may send hashed account identifiers, trial status requests, license status requests, Polar order or customer identifiers after purchase, locale/country checkout preferences, and aggregate event counters without prompt text.

Payment

Payments are processed by Polar. PromptSafe does not receive or store card numbers. Polar may handle taxes, invoices, receipts, and supported payment methods according to Polar terms and regional availability.
